Touché / Safra wins last race and is the champion of World Cup Warm Up Mitsubishi Motors..
Favorite competition, the boat of Ernesto Breda maintained its invincibility in season
Ilhabela (SP) - The sailboat Touché / Safra, the commander Ernesto Breda, confirmed the favoritism and gained the title of the Warm Up Cup Sailing Mitsubishi Motors to win the fifth race of the competition. Threatened by lack of wind, the race was disputed outside of the São Sebastião Channel, at Ponta das Canas and thus the disposal came into force, ensuring the title to the favorite, not disputed that the third race in Ilhabela, in the coastal north of Sao Paulo. The Warm Up was contested by 46 boats divided into seven classes.
The Handycam, a Farr 42 feet, led by Marcos Ferrari, who sought the tricampeonato class ORC International competition, got the second place, followed by the Loyal / Red Nose, Marcelo Massa.
Touché / Safra, a B & C 46, maintained his invincibility in the season, winning four of the five races held. The crew had to abandon the third race because of an incident (of a cable candle balloon crashed into the sea and caught in the propeller engine).
The Touch / Safra won this year's circuit Ocean island of Santa Catarina, in February, in Florianópolis, and Búzios Sailing Week, in Rio in April, besides the opening stage of the Copa Mitsubishi Motors in March, in Ilhabela.
"We are delighted with another title, but served in the Warm Up warning. We must sail carefully to try the title of the Rolex Ilhabela Sailing Week," Breda said the commander, referring to the most important sailing event in Latin America of 4 July 11.
"The crew did a great job, especially in the two races in which dropped escaped. This shows that we are more accustomed to the boat, which went through a major reform in the keel. It forces us to a totally different way of sailing," said Breda .
